Counselor Application

To apply for a counselor, CIT or staffer position at Hummingbird Music Camp, write a letter as instructed below.

Letters will be accepted for consideration beginning January 1st. All applications must be received in the Camp Office no later than February 1st.

Staffers, CITs and Counselors must be able to work in positions for two consecutive weeks, except for week nine.

Weeks 1 and 2 Music and Art both weeks

Weeks 3 and 4 Music/Chess week 3; Music/Art week 4

Weeks 5 and 6 Music/Art week 5; Music week 6

Weeks 7 and 8 Music and Art both weeks

Week 9 Music

Note that weeks for accepted applications are assigned on a first come, first served basis.

Please include the following information in your letter of application:

  • Full name, address, area code, phone number, and email address
  • Birthdate, grade and school you will attend in the fall
  • Instrument you plan on playing during music camp week, or if you are interested in Art Camp or Chess Camp
  • Position you are applying for
  • Week numbers you would like to attend (indicate both your 1st and 2nd choices)
    Choose from Weeks 1 and 2, Weeks 3 and 4, Weeks 5 and 6, Weeks 7 and 8 or Week 9
  • Past experience and number of years at Hummingbird Music Camp
  • Your participation in music and other activities
  • A recent photo of yourself (will not be returned)

Applicants who are accepted will be notified by email after February 1st and given an online link to confirm the offer and commit to specific dates.
